Sustainable Tourism, Climate Resilience and Digital Innovation in Vila Viçosa

Short description of the opportunity

A 5-day exchange and job-shadowing opportunity focused on sustainability, environmental awareness, digital innovation and sustainable tourism. Visiting staff will observe how the school connects VET courses with Eco-Digithon projects such as Smart Waste Management, GreenStep and the Smart Eco-Garden, and will exchange good practices on climate resilience and digital tools for visitors.

Main activities included in the visit

Presentation of the host school and relevant VET courses

• Exchange sessions with teachers and students from Tourism, Environmental and Rural Tourism, and ICT-related areas
• Showcasing Eco-Digithon and sustainability projects: Smart Waste Management, GreenStep and Smart Eco-Garden
• Peer meetings on climate resilience, sustainable reconstruction and digital tools for tourists
• Possible visits or case-study discussions linked to sustainable tourism in the region, including Alqueva/Dark Sky, Herdade do Freixo do Meio and Freixo Wine Cellar

Expected profile of participants

VET teachers, trainers, mobility coordinators and school leaders working in Tourism, Environmental and Rural Tourism, ICT, sustainability, climate resilience or Eco-Digithon-related school projects. Also suitable for accompanying staff of student groups.

5 working days, plus 2 travel days
